Violin corners are often knocked off and years of laying down a bass on it's side can wear edges right down to the purfling. Rebuilding the delicate edge work keeping the character of the bass in tact and matching both the grain and hue of the wood for an almost invisible touch-up can be very rewarding to both the luthier performing the work and the player who doesn't cringe every time a splintery edge catches the fabric of the case!
