Double Bass Bow Rehair

Our bass bow rehair service includes: replacement of the tip and frog mortise plug, replacement of hair spreader wedge, clean up of the stick etc. and of course a hank of our select silver, white or black bow hair (others available upon request). Any frog or tip mortise repairs or corrections are additional cost.

To have your bow rehaired simply send it (insured) to Upton Bass at the address given on our contact page. Be sure to include your name and return address and a method of payment. If you would like to pay via credit card please state that on your address info paper with your phone number and we will call you when the bow arrives.

We accept most bows for rehair but unfortunately cannot offer our service for fiberglass bows. We thoroughly inspect all bows before work begins and reserve the right to not perform the rehair if issues arise.

The charge for our bow rehair service is $75 (plus a $5 surcharge for chestnut hair) and takes roughly one week at our shop. All shipping cost are the responsibility of the customer.
