Spirocore Double Bass strings are a further technical development of the Kunstler Seil series and have a flexible spiral steel core. This core has greater elasticity than that of conventional strings, which means less inertia and a higher propensity to musical vibration. The sound is full and homogenous, balanced and voluminous.
Gary's thoughts on Spirocore S42 bass strings: "The S42 are the original classic spirocore, the string for that quintessential Ray Brown sound....Ray Brown not included. They are developed for a bass with a longer string length...7/8 and up. Using the longer string lenght on a shorter scaled bass gives us that nice easier to play growly string. As bassists we have been doing this for years not even knowing that the string were developed for a bigger bass!"

My maestro told me that they are the best of the solo strings... I have used them and it was like he said, the string are very soft.
