UB Fully Carved Double Bass ? ?Hawkes? Model

The UB Fully Carved Double Bass is a true European made double bass. Graduated to a high degree of accuracy of Ukrainian Sycamore Maple from the Caucasus mountains that surround the Black sea and of European "German" Spruce from the former Yugoslavia region. Topped with ebony fingerboard and tailpiece from Madagascar and the highest grade German made Rubner tuners accented with rosewood pegs. The hand applied oil varnish is of an Italian color character. No corners have been cut in this bass's construction.

The ?Hawkes? model is a large bodied ? bass with a 41.5 inch string length. The large upper bouts allow for the bass to move more air, resulting in a thunderously low but warm tone. The purity of tone is superb. Our laminated version of this bass has long been a best seller because of the quality of tone it can produce. This fully carved Hawke's model builds upon the solid foundation the Hawke's outline supplies, and the quality of the carved plates ads refinement and quality of tone that will impress even the harshest critic.
